World War II or the Second World War was a global conflict that lasted from 1939 to 1945. The vast majority of the world's countries, including all the great powers, fought as part of two opposing military alliances: the Allies and the Axis.

After the Axis had conquered almost all of Europe, an eastern front emerged with the Soviet Union. During the war it turned out that aircraft provided an important advantage on the battlefield. The Allies helped the Soviet Union obtain aircraft through a leasing construction. The aircraft were built in the USA and transported to the Soviet Union.

In 1942, a route of airfields was constructed in North America and Canada so that the planes could be transferred via Alaska. The route is called the Northwest Staging Route. Many airports still exist and are still in use.

The planes were built in the west and east of the United States. So, eventually there are two routes possible. First, I made the route from Minneapolis to Gambell and then decided to honour the other route as well. So here is the start in Great Falls. Both routes come together in Edmonton in Canada and from there continue to Gambell.

Until Edmonton they are separate routes, from Edmonton the routes have small differences so the trips are not completely the identical.

In Fairbanks the planes were inspected by the Soviet Union. After inspection and acceptance Russian pilots flew the lease-lend planes from Gambell to Cheremshanka in the Soviet Union. This is a separate bushtrip.

This leads to the following trips:

·         NorthWest Staging Route American and Canadian Airports VFR Minneapolis-St Paul Intl (KMSP) to Gambell (PAGM), 24 legs 3.081 nautical miles.

·         NorthWest Staging Route Western Track VFR Great Falls Intl (KGTF) to Gambell (PAGM), 17 legs 2.438 nautical miles.

·         NorthWest Staging Route Russian Airports VFR Gambell (PAGM) to Cheremshanka (UNKM), 19 legs 3.248 nautical miles.

You find your plane, a Diamond DA 40 NG parked, cold and dark. If a parking space is not available, the aircraft will be parked on the runway.

The following menus are available: ATC, NavLog, VFRMap and Weather. The season is Summer with a preset of a few clouds.

After landing you have to park the plane, preferably on the parking, if there is none, well leave it where you are. But, remember to close the plane down, Master Battery off, Mater Avionics off, Parking Brake set, Engine off. If you omit this the leg will not close.

Enclosed

The mission has 17 legs and takes 2.438 nautical miles. Default plane is the Diamond SA 40 NG. Of course, you can change it to a plane of your liking with the MissionChanger by BuffyGC.

The trip is written in English and machine translated to, German, French, Japanese, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Polish and Swedish.

The trip is made with the aid of Little NavMap and BushTripInjector. Thanks to Alexander Barthel and BuffyGC for creating and maintaining this excellent software. The information on the Northwest Staging Route, ALSIB is retrieved from Wikipedia.

No additional add-ons or mods are necessary. But I would advise to install PuffinFlight-We_Love_VFR-Region2

Enjoy flying and safe landing.
