Dole Plantation on O'ahu Island Hawaii
"Originally operated as a fruit stand beginning in 1950, Dole Plantation opened to the public as Hawaii’s “Pineapple Experience” in 1989. Today, Dole Plantation is one of Oahu’s most popular visitor attractions and welcomes more than one million visitors a year.
Dole Plantation provides enjoyable activities for the entire family, including the Pineapple Express Train Tour, the Plantation Garden Tour, and the Pineapple Garden Maze. Also popular are informational displays and presentations, as well as our plantation country store offering a wide variety of Dole Plantation gifts, local favorites, foods, and refreshments including the world-famous Dole Soft Serve! And, before you leave you can purchase fresh pineapple to take home." -Official Website www.doleplantation.com
WORLD UPDATE 13 (4-25-23): ALREADY TESTED AND FOUND FULLY COMPATIBLE, ASOBO DID NOT CHANGE HAWAII'S IMAGERY AND DEM ANYWAYS.
Google Photogrammetry (LOD 20, hence the 164 MB unzipped size, can upload a "lite" version in LOD 19 that's around 40 MB if requested) import of the entire 64-acre plantation of pineapples off the Kamehameha Hwy on O'ahu island. Home to the 2008 previous Guinness World Records title of having the World's Largest Maze, this remains a very popular destination for those visiting Oahu despite the 40-minute drive out of downtown Honolulu and Waikiki. The main attractions you can see include a small train ride around the fields, a visit to the pineapple-shaped maze, seeing the gardens of native tropical fruits and coffee, and visiting their restaurant which sells the world-famous Dole Whip ice cream!
Getting here:
- Fly straight north from Wheeler Army Airfield (PHHI), the plantation is only 3.1 mi (5.03 km) from the base.
- No open-world POI point is currently included, look for the lime green trees in an open farming field just north of Wahiawa Town.
Features:
- 64 acres of Dole Plantation in highly detailed Google Photogrammetry
- Small night lighting enhancement to help it stand out from the Wahiawa Village on night flights
- Optimized and baked textures, tested performance on WU10 currently with minimal impact
- 100% vanilla assets used, unlike my previous sceneries which usually include separate libraries
Before sharing concerns about this scenery in the comments, please read this:
Admittedly, the color blending on this scenery is not great despite my efforts so I highly recommend using MSFS2020 Map Enhancement by derekhe with Google Maps satellite imagery to get a more natural transition from the dark green to lime green grass texturing on the edges of the plantation. This is already optimized and reduced tile count using Google Earth Decoder Optimization Tools by Thalixte, should be no noticeable drops in performance and loading times. If there's any compatibility or performance issues you directly isolated this scenery for causing please let me know so I can investigate and release a fix for. I may upload a recompiled version anyways if there's a major update that is known to break scenery.
Install is a simple unzip and drop in community folder or community library with Addons Linker.
Just reporting this works great with WU13! It looks fantastic from the air. It's a bit of an acid trip if you fly too low -- don't try to land a helicopter in the courtyard -- but that's the nature of photogrammetry and not the author's fault. 😊
Glad you covered this since Asobo/MS didn't!

Thanks for letting me know! I flew over here after the update was well, but Asobo did not change much with Hawaii in terms of satellite imagery, photogrammetry, and the DEM so there wasn't any changes to the plantation! I try making my scenery ground-friendly though this came with a few compromises like you mentioned. ^.^,
I also just remembered I am wayyyy overdue for an update for this which fixes a lot of the vegetation around it and would look a bit better than it does right now. Now that the water poly functions are fixed I'll see if I can finish the update later this week!
