In the Pacific Northwest, between two active volcanoes, lies the Columbia River Gorge. It's sheer cliffs and stunning waterfalls attract outdoor enthusiasts of many different backgrounds, fishing, hunting, water, wind and air sports are all world class. In fact, the Gorge lies just south of the Riffe Lake Maverick Challenge. Locals are used to the sight of the Growlers that come down from Whidbey Island and dart out of the canyons to perform practice runs on the Hood River Bridge.
This scenery consists of a fictional airport using the very real and active float plane dock in the Hood River Marina. It includes local sights attractions and destinations and it includes animated kitesurfers, river traffic and the AI planes. There are two float plane oriented destinations, with directions in the included readme. It is strongly recommended you install 4S2 Ken Jernstedt by D17, also available here. Both sceneries are free standing, but D17 has done an excellent job recreating my local airport and the Hood River bridge, very beautiful work that would be a shame to ignore.
Areas represented are: Crown Point, Multnomah Falls and Lodge, Bonneville Dam complex, Bridge of the Gods, Hood River Marina in detail, Lost Lake and Packwood Lake.

IMPORTANT: I apologize, I forgot to include this information with the initial release. I developed about half of the boats in the marina. To fill the other two docks, you would have to have the free addon Seafront Simulations:Core Library installed. Purchasing another one of their addons, as I have, might encourage them to offer more resources to the community.

Awesome, Thanks so much for this. I fly this area frequently and am always disappointed in how the sim depicts the dams and Multnomah Falls. Its my home away from home.

Yes, that is for the AI aircraft. You can remove it from your inventory, if you'd like. Let me know if that is something you want to do and if you need help.

What a huge work. Congratulation, so beautiful. Eager to discover this gorge.

Thank you I hope you enjoy. I had forgotten to mention something very important and I will edit the scenery description after I tell you.
In the marina, I developed only about half of the boats. The rest I drew from the Seafront Simulations addon. This isn't an endorsement and the scenery is adequate alone, but that addon will add on more boats, fyi.

Wonderful addition! Enjoyed flying out of Hood River and taking in all of your new scenery. The only criticism I have is that of the motion effect used on Multnomah Falls. I think it would be better just to use a stationary image of the falls until a better water motion effect becomes available. Excellent job and thank you!

Thank you for your feedback. Please understand I kind of like the water wheel. There had been a scenery of The Gorge, done by Holger Sandmann that had been very inspirational. Water effects were no better in FS9, but at least Microsoft gave us basic scenery effects and he'd filled that scenery with the misty, "smoky" waterfalls.
Asobo, for all its professionalism, does not give us even that. We get smoke puffs and other smoke puffs, because you know, it's a flight simulator. So yes, I agree, it ruins my beautiful scenery, but this is it. Right now, my health insists there will be no updates. That fact may change, but the truth is that I rushed the scenery in the end, for fear I'd be unable to complete it.
So I am sorry to you and all the users, that you have to endure my silent protest. If I make it out of this, maybe I will change it.
