Fokker F28 MK 3000 Karel Appel Livery
The textures presented here need the Justflight F28 Professional payware installation.
The Fokker F28 MK-3000 livery presented here is based on an actual painting of a Fokker MK-3000 model by the fairly well know Dutch painter Karel Appel. Karel Appel was a member of the avant-garde art group “Cobra“ active from 1948 to 1951. And was formed on 8 November 1948 in the Café Notre-Dame in Paris.
During the year 1982 Karel Appel was approached by the Fokker company to paint a Fokker F28 MK-3000 model, with his own ideas, for promotional use. During that time, it was also envisaged to use the texturing for application on a real airplane for display during the Pais Airshow in 1983. The latter however never materialized. Today this external livery would easily compete and find a match with all the extraordinary liveries we see nowadays on various airlines aircraft. The promotional pictures, by Nico Koster, were taken in New York and the former World Trade Centre buildings were used as a background. With the exterior textures presented here I tried to get as close as possible to the known pictures of the painted model.
The downloaded zip file contains 2 folders. The “Fokker F28-3000-Karel Appel Livery” aircraft folder to be placed in your MSFS 2020 Packages “Community” folder. The second folder “Fokker F28-3000 texture Comp files” contains three files. These files will take care that the wing and tail leading edges represent the painted wing leading edges. They were and still are the standard for all Fokker F28 models from the start. For a detailed installation instruction read the included pdf file.
Note: Please be aware that the original picture of Karel Appel standing in front of the former World Trade Centre is copyright of the photographer Nico Koster and cannot be used without prior consent from the Nico Koster.
