Statements : I will NOT do the liveries already listed in the "Community Request" as I am prefer to let the people who needs karma do it and we all enjoy the results of their creations.
Rev 1.5 : Thanks to Fsadni's help. Updated the color to match better the color scheme of the ROCAF Central Army. If you like the camouflaged one, I also keep the rev 1.0, you just download the "Old file".
This livery is based on Fsadni's aircraft, his stock livery and I just did a minor change on one file.
You must download Fsadni's Curtiss-P40-tomahawk aircraft ( https://flightsim.to/file/27532/curtiss-p40-tomahawk ) in order to use this livery.
WARNING : This is NOT a livery for the payware Bigradial's P-40
Why I make this livery ? In WWII, the AVG's P-40 and the ROCAF's P-40 are normally flying together just like brothers. How can we miss one ?
History of AVG's Tomahawk:
In the Far Eastern battlefield of WWII, just after all the ROCAF aircrafts had been destroyed by the Overhelmed Empiror Japanese military force, the American Volunteer Group (AVG) led by Claire L. Chennault joined the Far Eastern battlefield.
The paintings of those AVG's P-40 B was with shark teeth, but China is a totally continental country, people had never seen a shark, so they called the AVG the "Flying Tiger". This was the stock livery of Fsadni's P-40B
The P40 was developed by Curtiss Wright Co. It was started from an experimental XP-40. The AVG uses the early model which is Tomahawk, which are P-40B, C, IIA/B.
History of ROCAF Kittyhawk :
Later, Curtiss developed the P-40K the engine is bigger and the air intake is more upfront. The US government supported plus the ROCAF government purchased several hundreds of P-40K~N
The ROCAF P-40K~N are fighting side by side with the AVG, but with slightly different paintings :
- There are huge ROC emblems and the number of the Wing.
- The paintings are more in green based
- There are tail numbers
- There are blue and white strips on the rudder
- No red banners and no personal marks
Warning : The shape of the P-40N is different from the P-40B, I try to make them as close as possible with the limitations of the livery.
History of the Grandfather's Order :
The ROCAF has no luxury of having personal aircraft, they shared the aircrafts. The Captain of the 4th Wing Hua-Jiang, Hsu painted one of his P-40 with a Chinese spell : "The Grand Father's Order". Meaning that this aircraft shoots down only the enermies who are willing to die. And the shark teeth of that P-40 has an evil smile which is different from other aircrafts.
This P-40 with the Grandpa's Order had never been shot down, but it was crashed during a training withe the AVG, the pilot in that instant Capt. Guang-Fu, Wang survived harmlessly. But unfortunately the AVG pilot broke his arm and was retired from the war. The Granpa's Order was repared and back to the mission until the end of the WWII.
The Chinese spells are normally in yellow, so does the "Grandpa's Order". Unlike the American's P-40, it was painted two sided. When Capt. Wang flew that aircraft, somehow it became white in color. May be it lost some magic power when the color was aged...

Joseph
